Amish Quilt 'Star Dahlia'

Star Dahlia is one of our beautiful, one of a kind Amish quilts. Amish quilters designed and produced it from Lancaster County Pennsylvania, USA.  The Star Dahlia pattern is one of the most popular and well-known patterns with the people of Lancaster County. With a pattern based on a traditional geometric eight-point star, it includes curved, puffy, gathered petals and a round centre to create a three dimensions pattern to represent the Dahlia flower. This curved variation of a basic geometric design makes the assembly of the patch more complicated and requires extra effort by the quilt maker. This queen size patchwork quilt features hand quilting and applique techniques and finished with large scalloped edges.
